Interns are therapists in the process of completing their accreditation requirements to attain full registration or a license to practice independently. These individuals have either completed their studies or are in the final stages of graduate school. Meeting all the criteria required by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) takes time, dedication, and practice.
Elpizo’s Role as a Training Centre
At Elpizo, we pride ourselves on being more than just a counseling clinic; we are also a training center dedicated to shaping the next generation of therapists. Through our Internship Clinic, we provide affordable, low-cost counseling services to the community while offering comprehensive training, mentoring, and supervision to our interns.
Who Are Our Interns?
- Fresh Perspectives: Our interns are new to the field, bringing fresh perspectives, passion, and the latest tools and interventions they have learned through their studies.
- Education: Our interns have either completed or are in their final stages of completion. They are certified Registered Therapists Qualifying (RPQ), by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
- Diverse Backgrounds: Many of our interns are entering the field as a second career, with previous experience in areas such as the medical field, the corporate world, or through the richness of their own life experiences. This diversity enhances their ability to connect with clients from various walks of life.

Elpizo’s Role as a Training Centre
We acknowledge that therapy is an expensive service and without health benefits and or financial sustainability, it will be difficult to access this much needed service. Our Internship Clinic allows members of the community to receive quality mental health care at an accessible cost. Clients benefit from the enthusiasm, compassion, and up-to-date knowledge of interns while contributing to the professional growth of future therapists.
