Life’s journey is filled with unexpected twists and turns, sometimes we get thrown off course and have no idea where we are. If you can relate to this, I am committed to helping people like you make the changes needed to live a more fruitful and rewarding life. I work with individuals who are grieving, going through a major life transition, dealing with a current crisis, or a past trauma. My work focuses on identifying unrecognized strengths and resources in my clients that can be used to face the challenges that lie in the journey ahead. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals.
Because we are relational beings, a major dimension of our lives is our relationships. One of the most important decisions we make in our lives is the decision to choose a life mate. When a once previously pleasurable relationship seems to lose its luster, I work with couples to resolve conflict, increase communication, and deepen intimacy.
My process involves creating a non-judgmental space where collaborative exploration of past experiences and present situations can blossom into discoveries of meaning and purpose. I use an existential, cognitive behavioural, and narrative therapeutic approach and the highly researched Gottman method with couples. I am a Christian and I am passionate about linking psychotherapy to spiritual concepts and practices with clients who find this helpful. I have lived in three countries on two continents, and I am interested in learning about diverse cultures, and applying culturally diverse practices within therapy.
I recognize that taking the first step to seek help can be daunting. If you are ready to start this therapeutic journey, I am ready to journey with you.
