You may be the reliable one, the person everyone turns to when something needs fixing. You take care of people at home, at work, in your family or community, often without complaint. But somewhere along the way, your own needs may have become easier to overlook.
You may also be carrying things you rarely put into words: trauma or childhood experiences that still affect you, grief others may not recognize, years of saying yes when you mean no, or dreams and desires that have repeatedly been placed on hold. Perhaps you learned to keep personal struggles private, but carrying everything alone has become exhausting.
Leesa works primarily with adult women who want to understand the patterns that once helped them cope or stay safe and begin creating something different. Together, you can put language to what has been carried in silence, strengthen boundaries, rebuild self-worth, explore identity and clarify the values you want to live by. She also provides Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) counselling for accident-related emotional and trauma concerns and participates in reunification-oriented family therapy services.
Her approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally responsive and integrative. Leesa is also a responsive and expressive therapist, thoughtful and grounded, but not distant. As trust develops, clients may also encounter the creative, quirky and animated side she brings naturally into the therapeutic relationship.
